The Arctic Tern is a relatively small bird. It is not an impressive star like the Eagle or aggressive hunter like the Hawk. Within the family of birds however, it is one of the most accomplished flyers. These birds migrate over 22,000 miles each year and almost never land. They even eat, “On the Wing.” One other trait sets them apart. Like the hummingbird, they can hover in midair. If I could somehow free myself from the man made wings that have allowed me to fly and choose a bird to emulate, it would be the Arctic Tern.
